The Wave of Hope Project
Being grateful to God for His Love and Mercy
The Wave of Hope (WoH) project is all about being thankful to God for His love and mercy. It is inspired by Our Lady, Star of the Sea, also known as Stella Maris.
The project began when Martin finished one of his art pieces called “Does It Matter?” This artwork was a drawing of a tree on a wooden board, which he had cut into 300 pieces. Martin wasn’t sure what to do with these pieces, but after praying and thinking about it, he decided to turn them into individual art pieces to give as gifts to family and friends. At first, it was just a nice gesture, but then it became something deeper—an expression of hope, pointing to the true Hope, Jesus Christ.
The artwork represents the Church as a ship on a journey toward the Kingdom of God, guided by a bright star in the sky. This star symbolizes Our Lady, Star of the Sea, who helps us find our way to her Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
This Jubilee Year, the theme "Pilgrims of Hope" is a perfect time to share this project with you.
Each piece of art is painted with acrylic paint and other materials.
